LOAD Week 1 Progress

Before I get started, I'll warn you: this post has a bunch of pictures.  Last week, I talked about how I finally worked up the courage to join one of Lain Ehmann's Layout a Day challenges.  Well, today I'm here to report on my progress now that we've almost made it through the first week.  I'm happy to say that I'm six for six!

To recap, each day, Lain gives a scrapbooking prompt, and then we can create a layout based on the prompt, or a variation of that prompt, or something completely off-prompt.  My layouts seems to fall in the middle category; I'm taking the idea of the prompt, and then suiting it to my stories or my pictures.

Last Thursday, I shared my first layout, and today I'm going to share days 2 through 6 with you (here's where the pictures are going to take over!).

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share the prompts, but you can probably get a decent idea of what they were by reading my layouts and/or journaling.  Here's Friday's page:

I felt pretty proud of myself...I pulled out some old-school Making Memories stickers:

And this was Saturday's layout:

Saturday's prompt was not Christmas related (though, coincidentally, Sunday's was), but some Christmas photos best fit the prompt for me.

I even used Liquid Pearls on the snowflakes (they were part of the Scraptastic kit I used for this layout):

And I even pulled out some wood veneer (not bad for a quickie layout!):

Here is Sunday's page:

I have to be honest, this may be my favorite of the pages I've made so far (I'm loving the banners!).

For this one, I pulled out not one, but two edge punches!

On Monday, I went back to my non-Christmas kit:

I felt fancy for using the gold glitter paper:

And lastly, here's today page:

I went for very clean lines (and I'm happy with the end result).  In case you're wondering, the little Mickey is to signify that this picture was taken on a Disney World trip.  And, no, this is not the first time I've added a Mickey out of enamel dots to a layout.  That's how I roll.  :)

So that's where I am now.  I'm hoping to post later this week with a few more layouts. All in all, I'm really enjoying this process.  I'm not sure when Lain is holding her next LOAD, but I would encourage anyone who is in a bit of a scrapbooking slump to sign up.  It's been incredibly motivating, and not nearly as time-consuming as I anticipated.  I still have 25 more days, though, so I'll update you as the month progresses.

Has anyone else been scrapping lately?  I would love to see what you've been creating!
